Bert is an incredible person who performed superhero-level feats for the organization. Bert and the L&D team he managed successfully built out a learning management system for multiple cloud-based products, an online learning management portal for customers to self-train in using those products, an internal learning management system for training newly hired employees, the L&D team trained customers directly with onsite and remote trainings, they managed customer demos, in addition to all of the content (video, photos, audio, text, and multi-language) that went into each of them and so much more.

The greatest thing about Bert is that he will always be your advocate. He is your #1 hype man when you've completed a project, he stands up for you when you need someone on your side, and he is truly the most empathetic person I have ever worked for. Bert is one of the best managers I've had the pleasure of working with in my career. Hard working? Check. Dedication? Check. Everything you can think of in a great manager Check. However...The key difference between Bert and other avg. managers is that he manages both people and projects. By that I mean he is genuinely interested in the folks who work for him and he feels that it is his responsibility to provide a career path for them. On multiple occasions I've seen him delegate the leadership of major, high profile projects to folks on his team so that they get some exposure to other groups and higher ups. And - to make sure that they succeed at the assignment, he will keep a close eye on the progression of the project and provide valuable advice and assistance to those folks - all behind the scenes so they can get the credit.
